2091 – ʿAbdullah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; al-Naḍr ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us, from someone who informed him, who said: “ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Aswad used to perform seven hundred rakʿas (units of prayer) every day. They would say that he was the least diligent member of his household. I have also heard that he became nothing but skin and bone, and they used to refer to the family of al-Aswad as ‘the people of Paradise.’”}
