2068 – ʿAbdullāh narrated to us; al-ʿAbbās ibn Muḥammad told me; Muḥammad ibn Bishr al-ʿAbdī narrated to us. Muslim ibn Jaʿfar said: I heard him say: “Fast from the world, and let death be your time to break that fast. Be like a man who treats his own wound: he patiently endures the bitterness of the medicine, fearing a lengthy ordeal, bearing the hardship in hope of enduring rest.”
