- ʿAbdullāh narrated to us, saying: My father informed me; Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn Rāshid informed us, from Makḥūl, from a man, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: “I have never sat with anyone who sought Allah’s forgiveness more often than the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.” The man added, “And I have never sat with anyone who sought forgiveness more frequently than Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him.”
٢١١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: «مَا جَلَسْتُ إِلَى أَحَدٍ أَكْثَرَ اسْتِغْفَارًا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ» قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: وَمَا جَلَسْتُ إِلَى أَحَدٍ أَكْثَرَ اسْتِغْفَارًا مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ (رحمه الله) "
