Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

2037 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Abu Muʿāwiyah narrated to us; al-Aʿmash narrated to us, from Muslim, from Masrūq, regarding the Almighty’s words: “Whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make for him a way out” (at-Ṭalāq 65:2). He said: “That ‘way out’ is for a person to know that it is Allah—exalted is He—Who withholds from him and Who grants to him. And concerning His words, ‘Whoever puts his trust in Allah, He is sufficient for him’ (65:3): is it not so that everyone who puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him? Indeed, whoever truly relies upon Him, He expiates his misdeeds and greatly magnifies his reward. Allah says, ‘Surely Allah will accomplish His purpose’ (65:3). Thus, whether it be the one who relies upon Allah or the one who does not, ‘Allah has appointed for everything a measure’ (65:3)—that is, a fixed term.”}
