Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal
  1. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father informed me; Wahb ibn Jarīr narrated to us; his father said, “I heard Yaʿlā ibn Ḥakīm relate from Sulaymān ibn Abī ʿAbd Allāh, who said:

Abū Umāmah, a Companion of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—had strapped his provisions behind him on his saddle. I heard Ibn ʿUmar say, ‘Whoever would like to look at a man truly performing Ḥajj should look at Abū Umāmah—may Allah be pleased with him.’ We asked, ‘Are we not pilgrims as well?’ He replied, ‘You only claim that you are pilgrims.’”
