204. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us—my father informed me—Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdiyy narrated to us, from Ḥumayd, from Anas, who said:

“The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—had a she-camel named al-ʿAdbāʾ, and she was never overtaken in a race. Then a Bedouin arrived on a young camel and outstripped her. This distressed the Muslims, and when he saw the look on their faces they said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, al-ʿAdbāʾ has been beaten!’ He replied, ‘Indeed, it is a right upon Allah that nothing of this world is raised except that He brings it down.’”
