1998 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Abu Ahmad narrated to us; Rizām ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, from his father, who said:
“Rabiʿ ibn Khuthaym came to our mosque. He tethered his mule and went inside to pray. The mule’s rope came loose and someone made off with it. When he came out he asked us about it, and we said, ‘We do not know.’ We then said to him, ‘Will you not call down a curse on the thief?’ He replied, ‘Leave him be; perhaps he will repent, and Allah will accept his repentance and he will begin to do good deeds.’”
