1962 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to me; he said: a man—whom he identified—narrated to me, from ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak; Sufyan informed us; he said: On Fridays, whenever Rabiʿ ibn Khuthaym set out, a young man from the neighborhood would follow him. He would then motion with his hand and say, “I seek refuge with Allah from your evil.”
