1957 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ayyub narrated to us; Abu Bakr ibn ʿAyyash narrated to us, from Saʿid ibn al-Rabiʿ ibn Khuthaym, who said: My grandmother related to me, on the authority of al-Rabiʿ ibn Khuthaym, that she said: “When his ʿaṭāʾ (state stipend) was disbursed—two thousand in all—he would keep one thousand two hundred for his own needs and give the remainder away in charity.”
