1941 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Sufyan ibn Wakiʿ narrated to us; Jarir narrated to us; from al-Aʿmash; from Mundhir al-Thawri; from al-Rabiʿ ibn Khuthaym, who said: “You have not understood everything that Allah—glorified and exalted be He—revealed to His Prophet, nor do you comprehend the meaning of everything you recite.”
١٩٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنَ وَكِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُنْذِرٍ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ كُلَّمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ – Exalté soit-Il – عَلَى نَبِيهِ أَدْرَكْتُمْ وَلَا كُلَّمَا تَقْرَؤُنَ تَدْرُونَ مَا هُوَ»
