- ʿAbd Allāh related to us—he said: it is recorded in my father’s notebook—Abū Muʿāwiyah related to us; a man related to me, from Bishr ibn Manṣūr, who said: Shumayṭ, may Allah have mercy on him, declared: “These gold dinars and silver dirhams are the bridles of the hypocrites; by them they are driven to their shameful deeds.”
١٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ: قَالَ شُمَيْطٌ (رحمه الله): «إِنَّ هَذِهِ الدَّنَانِيرَ، وَالدَّرَاهِمَ أَزِمَّةُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ؛ يُقَادُونَ بِهَا إِلَى السَّوْءَاتِ»
