196. ʿAbd Allāh related to us—and I found this report in my father’s notebook, written in his own hand—Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Ghalābī related to us—a man related to me—from Bishr ibn Manṣūr, who said:

“Faith is too dignified to pursue covetous desires, and one’s food must be equally dignified, kept clear of all that is unlawful.”
