- ʿAbdullah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Sayyar narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated to us; al-Mughīrah ibn Ḥabīb narrated to us, saying: “One night I went to check on Mālik during the winter. I had put on a waṭīfah (a thick winter cloak) and ⦗264⦘ lay down at the door of the house. Mālik entered, faced the qiblah, grasped his beard, and began to supplicate: ‘My Lord, when You gather the first and the last of creation, make Mālik’s grey hair forbidden to the Fire.’”}
