1853 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; ʿAmr ibn ʿAli told me; Abu Dawud related to us; Abu Khaldah related, saying: I heard Abu Sawwar say to Muʿādhah al-ʿAdawiyyah in the mosque of the Banu ʿAdi:
“One of you women comes to the mosque, places her head on the ground, and raises her posterior.”
She retorted, “And why are you looking? Fill your eyes with dust and do not look!”
He replied, “By Allah, I cannot help but look; then I sought pardon.”
She said, “O Abu Sawwar, when I am at home the children occupy me, but when I am in the mosque I feel more energetic.”
He answered, “It is precisely that ‘energy’ that I fear for you.”
