1837 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; ʿAli ibn Muslim narrated to me; Siyyar narrated to us; Yazid ibn ʿUmar, the client of Salam ibn Abi Mutiʿ, narrated to us. He said: I heard Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Muzani in the mosque of Basra say, “The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wear it, yet they did not criticize those who chose not to; and those who did not wear it did not criticize those who did.”
١٨٣٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ مَوْلَى سَلَامِ بْنِ أَبِي مُطِيعٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ بَكْرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيَّ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْبَصْرَةِ قَالَ: كَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَلْبَسُونَ لَا يَطْعَنُونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ لَا يَلْبَسُونَ، وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَلْبَسُونَ لَا يَطْعَنُونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَلْبَسُونَ "
