1836 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us; al-Mubarak narrated to us; he said: I heard Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Muzani making the following supplication, which he never neglected:

“O Allah, open for us some of the treasures of Your mercy, and thereafter never punish us—neither in this world nor in the Hereafter. Out of Your boundless bounty, grant us lawful and wholesome provision, and never again make us dependent on anyone but You, ever. By it, increase us in gratitude to You, in neediness and humble poverty before You, and through You give us sufficiency and dignified restraint from everyone besides You.”
