1834 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; someone who had heard from Hammad narrated to me, from Yazid al-Sunni, who said:
A man said to Muwarriq, “O Abu al-Muʿtamir, I complain to you about myself: I find myself unable to pray or to fast.” He replied, “What a wretched commendation you give yourself! If weakness keeps you from doing good, then let the same weakness keep you from doing evil—for my part, I am delighted by a single nap that I take.”
