1832 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; we were informed by ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muhammad al-ʿAmmi; Hammad ibn Salama narrated to us, from Humayd, from Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Muzani, who said: “Indeed Allah—may He be exalted—protects His believing servant just as one of you protects his sick relative.” ʿAbd Allah (the narrator) added: “I think he said, concerning worldly matters: ‘Have you not seen how a mother makes her child swallow a bitter draught, doing this and that so that the outcome will be good for him? In the very same way, Allah—may He be exalted—deals with His believing servant.’”
