1828 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Abu Jaʿfar Muhammad ibn ʿUmar ibn Jabalah ibn Abi Rawwad narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Marwan narrated to us, from Yunus ibn ʿUbayd, from Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allah, who said:
“You accumulate many sins, so accumulate istighfar (seeking forgiveness). Indeed, when a man commits a sin and then finds beside it an istighfar, he is pleased to see it there.” ⦗255⦘
١٨٢٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: «إِنَّكُمْ تَسْتَكْثِرُونَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ فَاسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ، وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا ثُمَّ رَأَى إِلَى جَنْبِهِ اسْتِغْفَارًا سَرَّهُ ⦗٢٥٥⦘ مَكَانُهُ»
