1819 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said, “I was informed by Sayyār; Jaʿfar narrated to us; Thābit narrated to us, from Abū ʿUthmān, from Salmān who said:
When a man is given to frequent supplication in times of ease, then hardship befalls him and he prays, the angels say, ‘A familiar voice—seek forgiveness for him!’ But when a man is not accustomed to supplicating in times of ease, and hardship befalls him and he prays, the angels say, ‘An unfamiliar voice,’ and they offer no intercession on his behalf.”
