1816 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said, “I read it aloud to my father. ʿAffān narrated to us, from Saʿīd, from Ḥabīb ibn al-Shahīd and Ibn ʿAwn, from Ibn Sīrīn, who said:

‘Do not hesitate to be among the God-fearing; do not hesitate to be among the doers of good.’

I conveyed this to Ayyūb, and he said, ‘I heard Saʿīd ibn Jubayr recite: “And for divorced women there is a fair provision; that is a duty upon the God-fearing” (al-Baqarah 2:241), and: “a fair provision; that is a duty upon the doers of good.” He then added, “Every divorced woman is entitled to a parting gift.”’
