1812 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: I was informed by Sayyār. Jaʿfar narrated to us; he said: I heard Abū ʿImrān al-Jawnī say:

“It has reached us that an angel from among the keepers of Jahannam (Hell)—the span between his shoulders equalling the distance a traveler covers during an entire autumn—will strike a man from the people of the Fire, leaving him pulverised, reduced to dust from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet.”
