1810 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us. He said: I was informed by Sayyār. Jaʿfar narrated to us; he said: I heard Abū ʿImrān al-Jawni and Abū Hārūn al-ʿAbdī say, “We heard Nauf say: ‘The dunyā (worldly life) has been likened to a bird: when one of its wings is severed, it falls. The two wings of the earth are Egypt and Basra; once those two are ruined, the dunyā will come to an end.’”
