1800 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said, “I read this report to my father.” ʿAffan narrated to us; Shuʿbah narrated to us. ʿAbbad ibn Mansur informed me; he said: I heard al-Qasim ibn Muhammad relate—on the authority of Abu Hurayrah—that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Verily Allah—exalted is He—accepts ṣadaqāt (alms); He receives them with His right hand and accepts nothing from them except what is pure. Indeed, He nurtures a single morsel just as one of you raises his young camel or his foal, until that morsel grows for its giver to the size of Mount Uhud.”
He (ʿAbbad) said: “I asked ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim about that, and he replied, ‘Al-Qasim had no knowledge of it.’”
