- ʿAbdullāh narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us; Ismāʿīl narrated to us, from Ibn Abī ʿArūbah, from Qatādah, regarding the Almighty’s words: “Had he not been of those who glorify [Allah] …” (al-Ṣāffāt 37:143). He said, “He was given to long, unhurried prayers during times of ease.”
١٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ – Exalté soit-Il –: " ﴿فَلَوْلَا أَنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِينَ﴾ [الصافات: ١٤٣] قَالَ: «كَانَ طَوِيلَ الصَّلَاةِ فِي الرَّخَاءِ»
