1790 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Yahya ibn Abi Bukayr narrated to us; Mahdi narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, who said:
“A nephew of ours got married and prepared a meal. Ibn Sirin then said, ‘A man from the Companions of Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—might remain for days without eating; if he found a piece of hide, he would make do with it, and if he found nothing at all, he would tie a stone to his belly.’”
