1780 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; al-Hasan narrated to me, from Damrah, from Ibn Shawdhab, who said: “Ibn Sīrīn used to fast every other day. On the day he did not fast, he would take lunch but forego supper; then he would have suḥūr (the pre-dawn meal) and greet the morning in a state of fasting.”
