1749 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: My father narrated to me; al-Aswad ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us; Abū Bakr narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Maymūn, who said:

Abū Qilābah came before ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, and the latter said to him, “Speak, O Abū Qilābah.” He replied, “By Allah, I find much speaking distasteful—and much silence as well.”
