1743 – ʿAbd Allah ibn Mandal narrated to us; he said: Fudayl ibn ʿIyad informed us, from Hisham ibn Hafsah, from Abu al-ʿAliyah, who said:

“The fasting person is engaged in worship so long as he does not backbite, even if he is lying asleep on his bed.”
