1740 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Yahya ibn Maʿin narrated to us; ʿUmar narrated to us; he said: I heard Hisham relating from Khalid al-Rabaʿi, who said: It is found in the Torah, or in one of the earlier scriptures: “The heaven shall weep over ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz—may Allah have mercy on him—for forty years, with the sorrowful weeping of one in mourning.”
