1727 – ʿAbdullah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Malik, who said: ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz asked a man, “Who is the leader of your people?” He replied, “I am.” ʿUmar said, “If you truly were, you would not have claimed it.”
