1699 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu Musa al-Ansari, Ishaq ibn Musa, related to me, saying: I heard Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah say that ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz declared, “Contentment is scarce, but patience is the believer’s pick-axe.”
١٦٩٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ: «الرِّضَاءُ قَلِيلٌ وَلَكِنَّ الصَّبْرَ مِعْوَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ»
