1697 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; al-Husayn ibn al-Junayd told me; Abu Nuʿaym narrated to us; ʿUmar ibn ʿUthman related: I heard ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz say, “The knowledge of those firmly rooted in learning with respect to interpreting the Quran comes to an end at their words: ‘We believe in it; all of it is from our Lord’ (Aal ʿImran 3:7).”
