1694 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to me; Sufyan ibn Wakiʿ narrated to me; Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, from al-Mukhtar ibn Fulful, who said: “I minted some copper coins (fulus) for ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz and inscribed on them, ‘ʿUmar has commanded faithfulness and justice.’ He said, ‘Break them and write instead: “Allah has commanded faithfulness and justice.”’”
