173 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Muḥammad b. Fuḍayl narrated to us; ʿAṭāʾ b. al-Sāʾib narrated to us, from ʿĀmir, who said:

“The Prophet—may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him—ate, along with Abu Bakr and ʿUmar—may Allah be pleased with them both—meat, barley bread, fresh dates, and cool water. He then said, ‘By the Lord of you two, this is indeed part of luxury.’”
