171 – ʿAbd Allāh reported to us; my father reported to us; Rawḥ reported to us; Hishām reported to us, from Muḥammad, who said:
“We were in the company of Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was wearing two safflower-dyed linen garments. He blew his nose into them and said, ‘Bravo, bravo! Abū Hurayrah blowing his nose into linen! I remember myself lying between the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the apartment of ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), collapsing in a faint. A passer-by would come and sit on my chest, and I would say, “It is not what you imagine; it is only hunger.”’”
