1653 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us; Abū al-Ashhab narrated to us, from al-Hasan, concerning His—exalted is He—word: “But whoever is stingy and thinks himself self-sufficient” (Surah al-Layl, 92:8). He said: “He was tight-fisted with that which does not endure, and felt self-satisfied without possessing any real wealth.”
