1649 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us; Abu al-Ashhab narrated to us, from al-Hasan, who said—and I know of no other way he transmitted it than as a marfūʿ (Prophetic) report—:
“If Allah intends good for a servant, He places his riches in his heart and protects his livelihood; but if Allah intends evil for a servant, He fixes poverty before his very eyes and allows his possessions to be scattered.”
