Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

1648 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us; Abu al-Ashhab narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, who said:

“O son of Adam, you notice the tiny speck in your brother’s eye yet leave the great log lying across your own.

He also said, “There are people destined for good and people destined for evil; whoever relinquishes something will be spared its harm.”

He further said, “The servants most beloved to Allah are those who make Allah beloved to His servants and who work across the land with sincere counsel.”

And he said, “The rulers and the wealthy will be gathered together, and it will be said to them, ‘You were the governors over the Muslims and the possessors of wealth; from you I shall seek My due.’”
