1636 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Hashim narrated to us; Ibn al-Mubarak narrated, on the authority of al-Hasan, who said:

“Beware—may Allah have mercy on you—of these idle wishes; for no one has ever obtained any good, whether in this world or in the Hereafter, through mere wishful thinking.”
