1623 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Samad narrated to us; Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us. He said: “Recall the intelligence of Mutarrif, the scrupulous piety (warʿ) of Ibn Sirin, the devoted worship of Muslim ibn Yasar, and the renunciation (zuhd) of al-Hasan.” He added—while Yunus ibn ʿUbayd was present—so Yunus remarked, “All of these qualities have come together in al-Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him).”
