1613 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Aswad ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us; Jarir ibn Ḥāzim narrated to us, who said: “We were sitting with al-Hasan when his son remarked, ‘Lighten things for the shaykh; he has not eaten and half the day has already passed.’ Al-Hasan rebuked him, saying, ‘Enough—leave them be! By Allah, a Muslim man would go to visit his brother, and the two of them would talk together and remember their Lord until even his midday nap had to be given up.’”
