1609 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: I was informed by Sayyār; Hilāl ibn Hiq narrated to us; Saʿīd al-Jurayrī narrated to us; he said: I said to al-Hasan, “O Abū Saʿīd, a man commits a sin and then repents, then sins again and repents, then sins again and repents, then sins again and repents—how long can this continue?” He replied, “I know of nothing but that this is one of the traits of the believers.”
