1608 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Sayyār narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated to us; Mālik ibn Dīnār said:
“Maʿbad al-Juhanī met me while I was riding and he was riding as well. He said, ‘O Mālik, I have journeyed through the towns and mingled with the people, yet I have not seen anyone like al-Hasan ibn Abī al-Hasan. If only we had heeded him—if only we had heeded him!’”
١٦٠٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ قَالَ: لَقِيَنِي مَعْبَدٌ الْجُهَنِيُّ وَأَنَا عَلَى، ظَهْرٍ وَهُوَ عَلَى ظَهْرٍ قَالَ: فَقَالَ: «يَا مَالِكُ، إِنِّي قَدْ طُفْتُ الْأَمْصَارَ وَرَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ فَلَمْ أَرَ مِثْلَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، يَا لَيْتَنَا كُنَّا أَطَعْنَاهُ يَا لَيْتَنَا كُنَّا أَطَعْنَاهُ»
