Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

1594 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Shujaʿ ibn al-Walid narrated to us; Sufyan ibn Saʿid narrated to us, from al-Hasan, who said: “A believer greets the morning only in a state of fear, and nothing sets him right except that; for he stands between two sins: one that has already passed—he does not know how Allah will deal with it—and one that is yet to come, or, he said: another, concerning which he does not know what has been decreed for him.”
