1577 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; ʿAli ibn Muslim narrated to us; Sayyar narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated to us; ʿAnbasah al-Khawwās narrated, from Qatadah, who said:
Moses son of Imran (peace be upon him) said: “My Lord, You are in the heaven and we are on the earth; what sign distinguishes Your wrath from Your good pleasure?” He replied, “When I place your upright people in authority over you, that is a sign of My pleasure; but when I place your wicked people in authority over you, that is a sign of My wrath.”
١٥٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَنْبَسَةُ الْخَوَّاصُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ مُوسَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ (عليه السلام): يَا رَبِّ، أَنْتَ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَنَحْنُ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا عَلَامَةُ غَضَبِكَ مِنْ رِضَاكَ؟ قَالَ: «إِذَا اسْتَعْمَلْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ خِيَارَكُمْ فَهُوَ عَلَامَةُ رِضَائِي وَإِذَا اسْتَعْمَلْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ شِرَارَكُمْ فَهُوَ عَلَامَةُ سَخَطِي»
