1565 – ʿAbd Allah informed us; he said: “I found, in the notebook of Bishr ibn al-Harith, written in his own hand: Sufyan al-Thawri narrated to us, from Muharib ibn Dithar, who said: ‘What keeps me from wearing a new garment is the fear that envy might arise among my neighbors and they would say, “Where did he get that from?”’”
