1531 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Ḥumayd related to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak transmitted to us; Maʿmar narrated from Yaḥyā ibn al-Mukhtār, from al-Ḥasan, who said:

“Love in moderation and hate in moderation. Certain people went to excess in loving others and were destroyed, while others went to excess in hating others and were destroyed. Therefore, do not be excessive in love and do not be excessive in hatred.”
