Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

1507 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Hudbah narrated to us; Hazm narrated to us; Saʿid ibn Ayman narrated to us; Thabit al-Bunani said: I heard al-Hasan say, “If everything the son of Adam said were completely true and all his deeds entirely correct, he would lose his mind.” I asked Saʿid ibn Ayman, “What does he mean by that statement?” He replied, “He would become infatuated with himself.”
