1484 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; al-Layth ibn Khalid narrated to us; Abu Ruh, Awn ibn Musa, narrated to us. He said: I heard Muʿawiyah ibn Qurrah say: They were discussing in the presence of al-Hasan which of all deeds is best. It seemed they were leaning toward the night vigil (qiyam al-layl). I then said, “Refraining from what Allah has forbidden.” Al-Hasan noticed that answer and said, “The matter is settled, the matter is settled.”
